Welcome from the Headteacher
Welcome to Harbour Primary & Nursery School
I am incredibly proud to be head teacher at such a great school where children, staff, governors and parents work extremely hard and have high expectations of one another.
We all share a determination that all children will achieve the very best they can and will be happy at school.
We are committed to providing the children with an environment that allows them to explore their own interests, ask their own questions, and develop their personal, social, emotional and academic skills.
At Harbour you will find a friendly, caring and purposeful environment where relationships are built on mutual respect and everyone is welcome. We all understand and use ‘Ready, Respectful, Safe’ to develop ourselves and build relationships with others.
At Harbour the children are at the centre of all that we do and we strive to provide an inclusive and exciting curriculum with a wide range of learning experiences to engage and enthuse everyone.
Reading is at the heart of everything we do. We teach children to read and to love reading from day one. All lessons involve reading and it is the priority we ask all our parents to commit to. We are also rigorous in our teaching of writing and mathematics, to ensure children are ready for each stage of their learning. We plan our lessons to help children remember what they have learnt so they can begin to make links with what went before, what am I learning now, and what will be next.
I hope you enjoy exploring this website and finding out about our school.
If you would like to visit us, please contact the office to arrange an appointment. I am always happy to show visitors the work of our successful and happy school.
